The mission of Dissertation Dish is to highlight quality emerging research in the field of service-learning and community engagement by providing a platform for recent doctoral degree recipients to share their work more broadly. Join us at our upcoming Dissertation Dish session, “Latin American University in the Society: Analysis of the Relationship Between University and Community," on August 27, 2024, from 12:00 - 1:30 pm CT. We are excited to welcome Carmen Monge Hernández, Ph.D., an engaged scholar (extensionista) at the Universidad Nacional, Costa Rica (UNA). Dr. Carmen Monge Hernández will explore two Latin American community engagement experiences through the lenses of the capabilities approach for human development to comprehend their contribution toward transformative community engagement.
